ABOUT US

Groenewald Coetsee Physiotherapy was established in 2024 by owners Nadia Groenewald and Mallory Coetsee. Collectively, they have over 30 years of clinical experience in private practice. The practice was initially purchased from a previous practice which served the local community for over 40 years. Nadia Groenewald and Josè Cox partnered up for just under 10 years to grow the practice. Today, the practice maintains the proud tradition of its predecessors, continuing to serve many of the same patients and their families from Edenvale, the East Rand, and other parts of the greater Johannesburg region.

Groenewald Coetsee Physiotherapy is situated in the ReActive Sport Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Centre, which is located on the1st floor of the Harmelia Medical Centre (previously known as the Harmelia Hospital or Hydromed).

The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) recognises physiotherapists as first line practitioners, and therefore we are lawfully registered and duly authorised to ASSESS, DIAGNOSE and TREAT a wide variety of conditions. Furthermore, it is in our scope of practice to manage patients from the acute phase, through each subsequent phase, to the final phase of rehabilitation.

Groenewald Coetsee Physiotherapy primarily focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of sport and orthopaedic conditions, but we also manage certain cardiopulmonary conditions. Whilst changing your symptoms (e.g. pain, stiffness, tingling etc) may be our short term goal, we believe in the long term effects of rehabilitative exercise and strengthening. This approach is used in all our treatments as we strive to not only reduce your symptoms and improve your quality of life, but to hopefully keep you in this state for as long as possible.

A thorough assessment is conducted with each complaint you may have, to allow your treatment and  rehabilitation process to be completely individualised to your unique requirements. We believe that a quality service should not be rushed, therefore all our sessions are 30 – 45 minutes of one-on-one time with a physiotherapist.
